ESD Standards

An article titled ESD Standards: An Annual Progress Report appears in the current issue of Printed Circuit Design and Fab. The article written by ESD Association and details the importance of standards in the manufacturing of electronics. It also discusses how the ESD Association creates and maintains the standards. The article goes on to state:

The EOS/ESD Association, Inc. (ESDA) is dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and avoidance. The ESDA is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standards developer. The association’s consensus body is called the Standards Committee (STDCOM), which has responsibility for the overall development of documents. Industry volunteers participate in working groups to develop new and update current ESDA documents.

Multiple Desco employees volunteer their time to be apart of the ESD Association’s standards meetings, working groups, and other functions. We have a long history of involvement with the ESD Association and consider many of their documents in the design and use of our products.
