Introducing VpCI-125 HP Bags

Desco’s VpCI-125 HP bags are specifically designed to safeguard ESD-sensitive components while preventing corrosion. These innovative bags feature permanently dissipative inner and outer surfaces (Rtt <1.0 x 1011 ohms per ANSI/ESD STM11.11)

At the heart of this technology is Cortec’s Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI) chemistry—an advanced formula that actively seeks out metal surfaces, creating an invisible molecular barrier to shield against moisture and corrosion. Unlike conventional coatings, VpCI molecules do not bond to the metal but instead form a protective layer that repels water at the molecular level.

How VpCI Works

When electronic components with exposed metal are placed inside a VpCI-125 HP bag and sealed, the inhibitor chemistry permeates the atmosphere within the bag, surrounding the metal surfaces with a protective barrier. This equilibrium ensures continuous protection until the bag is opened—at which point the VpCI dissipates without leaving residue, ensuring components are pristine and ready for use.
