Guidelines for Cleaning Desco Products

The following are guidelines for cleaning Desco ESD control products. Please consider that health and safety always take precedent to ESD control. Confer with your company’s health and safety department for further clarification.

  1. Operators should not share products such as wrist straps, smocks, gloves or foot grounders. Operators should be responsible for cleaning the products that they use. Sharing products between operators is not recommended.
  2. Alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol may be for surfaces such as mats and other products. Isopropyl alcohol should be used sparingly as a way to disinfect the surface or remove excess grime. Isopropyl alcohol may degrade the performance and physical properties of the materials and are not recommended for long term use. Normally, cleaning should be done with products specifically designed to clean surfaces in ESD Protected Areas such as Reztore® Surface and Mat Cleaner
  3. Non-bleach laundry sanitizers may be used with the items that can be laundered such as gloves, smocks and wrist bands. Non-bleach laundry sanitizers may degrade the performance and physical properties of the materials and are not recommended for long term use.
  4. Consider replacing products that are past their useful life-cycle.
